Women of the Bible Quilt

In September I started a unique quilt group. It is a block of the week with a Bible study for a woman of the Bible. We learn her story and her place in the plan and her individuality. It has been very interesting so far. I’ve learned new things about the women and I’ve also learned new things about quilting and also about why I prefer certain types of piecing over others.

I did want to show you the blocks I’ve made so far – there are 52 main blocks when it is finished and quite a few optional blocks.

The main blocks I’ve made are:

Lot’s Wife

I have also made some special blocks:

The Tree of life

Zilpah and Bilhah

One more finished UFO from this summer – one of many!!

This is a paper Doll quilt that has been in my drawer for quite a while – there is a quilted carrier that goes with it that contains more dolls and all their clothes and accessories.  I finally finished the quilt and set both quilt and carrier to my new great-niece.  I do hope she enjoys it as much as her mom and grandma are!!  LOL

  1. Susan:

The paper doll quilt is so cute. I know she loved it! These blocks are great. Kudos to you for doing the two special blocks – those require a lot of careful attention! Thanks for posting them. I like the sense of light that shines through all your blocks. Like the women’s lives, and ours, if we choose the right, the light of Christ shines through us.
